Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, Miyuki Ouchi has established two bases in Tokyo and Tohoku-region, and has started activities to connect producers and consumers, such as cooking classes in collaboration with producers, nutrition education, and opening marshes.
She is also involved in a wide range of other activities related to food, such as supervising cooking video apps, menu planning apps, managing information websites for nutritionists, and consulting for restaurants.
She also loves to look for delicious ingredients and restaurants all over Japan.
Directly connected to Minato mirai staion! Enjoy authentic Indian cuisine in an exotic atmosphere!
Khazana is an Indian restaurant and bar which offers authentic Indian cuisine. It is located underground of a commercial complex called “Minato mirai tokyu square” which directly connects to the Minato mirai station on Minato mirai line. Going into the restaurant, you will feel like you are instantly in India with a very exotic atmosphere. I visited Khazana and met the friendly Japanese manager and energetic chefs.

Entering the restaurant, you will be overwhelmed by the exotic interior such as beautiful lamps, elephant objects, antique tables, and chairs. It is such gorgeous and exciting space that you will want to take pictures. There is seatings for 60 which is quite spacious and can be enjoyed by single customers to families, friends and groups from work. They ensure to provide a unique time for everyone.
When I was there for the interview, I saw couples and some locals originally from overseas. It is a popular restaurant for foodies who seek for authentic Indian cuisine.
I ordered “Vegetarian set meal” from a variety of items on the menu.
Besides single items on the menu, there are some set meals available such as “set meal with 3 types of curries” you can try different curries, “Tandoori meat set meal” so you can enjoy dishes with meat, “mild curry set meal” for those who don’t like spicy food, “lamb shank curry set meal” for lamb lovers. They also have special menu called “set meal with curry of your choice and nann” available for 16:00 -19:00. If you can come during the time, it might be good idea to avoid rush hour and enjoy a relaxing dinner.
I ordered a vegetarian set meal which came with dal curry and vegetable curry as a main (1750 yen), it is a perfect choice for vegetarians.
Vegetarian set meal
Besides two types of curries as a main, the set meal includes:
- Deep-fried Samosa, which has the filling of spiced ingredients wrapped in dough made of wheat flour
- Vivid yellow-colored saffron rice
- Roti, the wholemeal bread
- Fresh small salad
- Raita, which is salad made with yogurt
It is very satisfying.
Dal curry
Dal curry is very delicious and satisfying without using animal products. It has beautiful flavors that makes this dish enjoyable to the very end.
Vegetable curry
Vegetable curry is made with a spinach sauce as a base and topped with handmade cheese called Paneer. Paneer looks like tofu, and can be enjoyed by vegetarians.
Not just curries that are authentic. Don’t miss out “lassi”
I also ordered a drink, “mango lassi” which has a pretty marble pattern.
Mango lassi
In India, lassi is the signature drink in their culture. It is like drinking yogurt, with mild sweetness and sourness, making a great match with creamy yogurt. It cooled me down after I got a bit warm with the spicy meal.
At Khazana, they help you with your orders. They arrange the dishes if you have allergies, or you can’t eat particular ingredients due to religious reasons. Please ask them for details, They also offer kids menu, ensuring a great time for everyone.
Halal certification
They are a certified halal restaurant. You will feel at ease when you see the halal certification at the entrance. Why don’t you try their authentic Indian cuisine, especially when we are uncertain about future and don’t know when we can travel overseas again.
