We recommend dried fruits made solely from the sweetness of the ingredients.
Upon exiting the ticket gate at Futako-Tamagawa Station, the entrance to the Rise Shopping Center is right in front of you. Head down to the basement floor and you’ll see an exotic store in a corner of the Tokyu Food Show. This is the FAR EAST BAZAAR Futako-Tamagawa store (it was decked out in Halloween decorations on the day I visited).

An exotic storefront
The first thing you’ll notice in the store are the rows of jars filled with colorful dried fruits and nuts. FAR EAST’s buyers personally travel to dried fruit and nut-producing regions around the world to select the most natural and safe products. The dried fruits are made without any added sugar, relying solely on the sweetness of the fruit. They’re sold by weight, so you can buy just the amount you need, even in small quantities. First-time customers might be unsure what to buy, but the staff are very helpful and explain the products to you, so you can shop with confidence. This time, I purchased the highly recommended and popular “dates” (dates are the fruit of date palms that grow in the Egyptian desert oases). This was my first time trying them, and they had the moist texture and distinctive crunch of dried fruit, and the mildly sweet flavor made me want to eat several. They also recommended eating them with nuts like walnuts, so I did too. The sweetness and the savory flavor of the nuts really brought out the flavor of the fruit, so I definitely recommend trying them together.
Once you try it, you’ll be hooked! Arabian gelato
Another eye-catching feature in the store is the gelato display case. This gelato is made without refined sugar, and instead features the natural sweetness of fruit and palm nectar. When ordering, customers can choose two flavors.

Gelato Display Case
The most popular flavor is the classic “Milk,” characterized by its gentle sweetness using palm nectar. Other flavors include the matcha flavor “Rikyu” and the “Fig” flavor, which uses sake. However, the seasonal flavors are what really draw me in. On the day I visited, they had the “Pumpkin” flavor, made with Hokkaido chestnut pumpkins, which I chose without hesitation. The pumpkin flavor is vegan, and they say they’re increasingly offering other vegan flavors. If you order in-store, they’ll decorate it with nuts and flakes (flakes are only available in cup orders).

Limited-edition Halloween Gelato
The pumpkin I received was incredibly rich and fluffy, almost like pumpkin gelato made from the pumpkin itself. The “Mango” gelato that was paired with it was made with plenty of dried fruit, giving it a pulpy texture and making it a truly luxurious gelato.
They also offer vegan smoothies and gelato cookie sandwiches, so you can enjoy something different every time.

Enjoy it as takeout or as a gift!
In addition to the dried fruits and nuts mentioned above, gelato and cookie sandwiches are also available for takeout. Enjoy them at home, or combine jarred and individually wrapped dried fruits to create a custom gift.

Customizable gift with customizable combinations

The assorted cups are also adorable.
Also, since many customers return for more personal use, they offer an environmentally friendly approach: if you bring your own container, they’ll fill it with bulk items.
Why not stop by FAR EAST BAZAAR Futakotamagawa and chat with the staff to find your favorite products?
