Natural Food Shop

It’s about a two-minute walk from JR Ryogoku Station in Tokyo. Exit the east exit, turn left, and you’ll see the Second Enzyme Building, “Ecolo,” on your right. Genki-tei is on the second floor. This natural food restaurant, focused on grain-based vegetarian cuisine, is overseen by a registered dietitian from the Ecolo Cooking School, a healthy natural food cooking school. Its retro exterior and large sign make it easy to find. The Ecolo Building is home to Genmai Koso Co., Ltd., and in addition to Genki-tei, it also houses a natural food shop on the first floor, the Ecolo Cooking School on the third floor, and seminars on food and health on the fourth floor. Since its founding in 1971, Genmai Koso Co., Ltd. has been engaged in food education activities based on the philosophy of “delivering true health through improved diet.” Genki-tei offers menus incorporating the latest in nutrition, preventive medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine, including herbal medicine, and offers vegan and gluten-free options. The menu incorporates the concepts of natural foods and medicinal cuisine, resulting in nutritionally balanced meals. Domestic ingredients and additive-free seasonings are used as a priority, ensuring safe and secure meals. This is a wonderful restaurant that offers a wide range of options, even for those who have trouble choosing a restaurant or have allergies.

Drink Menu

I had “Today’s Meal.” The side dishes seem to change daily. There were five dishes, all well-seasoned and satisfying. They’re particular about brown rice, and use “Kanau Brown Rice.” Kanau Brown Rice contains 10 times the GABA of regular brown rice. It’s also rich in gamma-oryzanol, vitamin E, protein, and folic acid, making it a rich source of healthful nutrients. Kanau Brown Rice was chewy and very easy to eat, so I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t found brown rice to be too hard or tasty.

In addition, each menu comes with brown rice enzymes manufactured and sold by Genmai Koso Co., Ltd. They are finely granulated and have a fragrant brown rice aroma. Mix them in your mouth with water, tea, or other liquids and then swallow. Brown rice enzymes are a natural food fermented with koji mold. We offer support from various angles for those who are concerned about nutritional deficiencies and imbalance, those who want to increase the number of beneficial bacteria, and those who want to manage their nutrition during pregnancy and breastfeeding. There are different types of brown rice enzymes that are specialized for each problem. These can be purchased at the natural food shop on the first floor or online. We recommend them because they are easy to take.

Food that heals the body and mind

Shokujidozen

Shokujidozen

I had the “Shokujidozen” meal. It’s colorful and delicious to the eye, yet healthy too. Another plus is that it’s packed with vegetables. The side dishes change, so you won’t get bored even if you come every day. It uses easily digestible ingredients, making it gentle on the stomach and intestines, and the robust flavor leaves you feeling satisfied. This meal also comes with a small packet of brown rice enzymes.

Enzyme Juice

Enzyme Juice

For my drink, I had the enzyme juice. It’s green, but it has a mild, sweet apple juice flavor. I recommend it for those concerned about a lack of vegetables or those looking to increase their enzyme intake. The apple juice is blended with reishi mushrooms, a superfood used in traditional Chinese medicine. This reishi mushroom is “Hi-Genki Reishi,” sold by Enzyme Genmai Co., Ltd., and can also be purchased at the natural food shop on the first floor or online.

Genki-tei offers both eat-in and takeout options. Why not try to balance your body and mind while enjoying the blessings of nature?

I have experience as a nursery school nutritionist, and I am involved in dealing with children's food allergies.
As both myself and my child have allergies, I began to reevaluate my diet and became interested in gluten-free and organic foods. I then resolved to stay healthy both physically and mentally.
I love anything related to food, so I'm always on the lookout for food-related information.
I want to create a place where people can understand allergies and various food cultures and enjoy eating.
