Food and space that heals the body and mind

The world-famous raw food restaurant ALCHEMY, from Bali, Indonesia, has opened its first overseas location on the fourth floor of Tower Plaza in the popular Azabudai Hills. It offers a variety of plant-based dishes. The interior is soft, with natural light pouring in through large windows, and the restaurant’s interior is beautifully decorated with greenery.

Menus and orders are placed using the QR code on the table. This time, I ordered the signature dish, the Alchemy Salad Bar. Choose one of three salad bases (mixed greens, quinoa, or brown rice), then a staff member will guide you to the salad bar counter and let you choose four toppings. Adding more than four toppings or premium toppings is optional, starting at 300 yen each. Enjoy a variety of Indonesian dishes with premium toppings. You’ll even encounter rare treats like “jackfruit chicken,” made with unripe jackfruit resembling chicken. After choosing your base and toppings, choose one of seven dressings to complete your meal. First, be amazed by the size! The 23cm diameter glass salad bowl is filled with a mountain of salad and toppings!

There are seven types of dressings and toppings, including nuts.

Our choices this time were a mixed green base with a creamy Caesar dressing, followed clockwise by Pitti Panna, a German potato-style dressing, the premium topping of jackfruit chicken, kale tahini (kale tossed in a sesame paste sauce), tofu egg salad (made with drained tofu to create an egg salad-like dish), and brightly colored roasted root vegetables.

Let’s get started. First, the dressing. Creamy Caesar has the richness and depth of traditional Caesar dressing, but with a refreshing, light aftertaste that doesn’t overwhelm the flavor of the vegetables. Pitti Panna uses smoked tofu instead of bacon, giving it a bacon-like flavor. The kale in the Kale Tahini is also not bitter and is easy to eat and delicious! The jackfruit chicken has a fibrous texture similar to chicken and is satisfying to eat. We were particularly impressed with the tofu egg salad! The texture of the drained tofu is just like real egg white! The richness and flavor of eggs are recreated using nutritional yeast and black salt, making it both amazing and delicious! I was impressed. The vibrant roasted root vegetables also had a strong vegetable flavor. Everything was carefully prepared, and the delicious food served in a comfortable space was soothing to both body and mind.

In addition to salads and bowls, the extensive menu will make you want to come back again and again!

In addition to the Alchemy Salad Bar, we also offer bowls and salads. If the salad bar’s selection is overwhelming and you can’t decide, we recommend the bowls and salads.

We’re impressed by the combination of plant-based and delicious food! Hearing that head chef Shanti Allen spent two months in Japan to develop the menu using Japanese ingredients in preparation for the Japanese store’s opening, it makes sense. The smiles and cheerful atmosphere of the staff, including manager Kimura, were also impressive. It’s not just the delicious food, but the secret to the store’s wonderful atmosphere that makes you want to come back! lies not only in the beautiful interior, but also in the smiling faces of the staff. We invite you to experience ALCHEMY for yourself.
