After graduating from the management nutritionist training process at Kyoto Prefectural University, she engaged in product planning at food manufacturing company and food company.
She also contributed to the development of new “limited” products of pasta, sandwiches, and side dish bread to a certain convenience store.
In between job changes, she goes to school as a food coordinator, takes pictures of food coordinators and stylist teachers, and also experiences cooking class assistants.
After retiring from pregnancy, she studied health and body again. Now she is raising a 5-year-old twin boy (using natural remedies without relying on medicine as much as possible), while practicing child-rearing with high immunity by incorporating something close to the above.
She also presides over a cooking class for rice cooked at home (sometimes on a business trip) and mainly holds additive-free sprinkle furikake courses and fasting courses. She teaches how to eat and serve as well. In addition, she is currently helping people to prepare their body, as an osteopathic manipulative practitioner.
A hidden gem in Tenjin
“Sangatsu no mizu (Water of March)” is located in the narrow lane just off the main road in Tenjin Imaizumi and it is a cozy delicatessen with a stylish interior that attracts a variety of customers of all ages.
This delicatessen is operated by a couple who used to be a system engineer and a designer. Although they have different backgrounds, they both were once involved in the food industry as a manager of the Music Bar and a distributor at the famous Tsukiji fish market when they lived in Kanto region because they both have passion for food.
They ended up moving down to Fukuoka and have been operating “Sangatsu no mizu” in Tenjin Imaizumi for 4.5 years since then.
Sangatsu no mizu’s concept is “It’s the joy in your heart”, hoping that people come here casually anytime for takeout, a drink, or just a coffee and feel joy and happiness in day-to-day life. With the atmosphere, they create such comfortable and welcoming space with the quality food for reasonable prices.
Although this is a compact-sized delicatessen with standing style mostly, they play a role in a lively community for the customers of all ages, from students to the elderly people in their 80’s.
After 4.5 years, they have lots of regulars who used to come to grab a juice after school and now they come to grab a drink after work or come for takeaway.
The signature 8 kinds of colorful side dishes
The must-try items are the 8 kinds of colorful side dishes in a showcase in the centre of the shop.
As for the side dishes, they usually prepare with both one meat and one fish dish respectively, and some vegetable dishes. They keep some regular dishes while having other dishes for “a special of the day”, so you can always enjoy something different.
The signature “deli plate” which is very reasonably priced for 700 yen, comes with all the 8 kinds of side dishes and rice.
For vegetarian/vegan customers, you can customize the deli plate with your own choice of items from these 8 side dishes and get the same quantity.
They are happy to help to accomodate the needs for vegetarian and vegan, please fell free to call them in advance to check.
They also carefully select the ingredients and try to use vegetables that are organic, pesticide-free, or grown with reduced amount of pesticide from the local contracted farmers in Fukuoka and Kyusyu region.
I think it is quite rare in this area to find such shop as Sangatsu no mizu that are so particular about the quality with great concepts, yet provide beautiful food for very reasonable prices.
I ordered the deli plate for takeaway after the interview, and it was really tasty and I finished it all in a second!
Delicatessen where you can enojoy a variety of unique alcohol/non-alcohol items
Sangatsu no mizu also have a wide variety of drinks that you don’t want to miss out on.
There are some unique drinks besides regular items such as beer, whiskey with soda, and wine on the blackboard that attracts your attention, this is because the owner wants to create the welcoming atmosphere even for a quick drink and makes sure you have a great time.
There are unfamiliar items that make you feel curious, such as cocktails and chuhai with fruit syrup, coffee shochu, and Earl Grey shochu.
They serve alcohol during the day and I came across some regular customers enjoying drinks around 3 o’clock for “an early dinner”.
There are also a variety of non-alcoholic items available for those who don’t drink. In fact, students and house wives often come to enjoy drinks such as speciality coffee, herbal tea, and soda/hot water with fruit syrup.
This homemade fruit syrup is made from local seasonal fruit whenever possible and it is quite refreshing and not overly sweet, I would like you to try when you come by!
It is a delicatessen that all items on the menu are available for takeaway.
