Fashionable and casual vegan restaurant LONGING HOUSE Kita-Aoyama

“LONGING HOUSE Kita-Aoyama” is a stylish dining restaurant located in the Aoyama area, a 5-minute walk from Omotesando station.

At LONGING HOUSE, you can enjoy vegan, vegetarian, and menues that Muslim people can also enjoy (but not Halal certified).
In addition, there are dishes that use animal-derived ingredients.
The original LONGING HOUSE store is located inside the hotel in Karuizawa, Nagano prefecture. Because there were many requests from the customers, the store started vegan and halal menus, so more people can enjoy delicious Japanese vegetables.

Kita Aoyama’s dining restaurant serves creative dishes with lots of fresh vegetables for lunch and dinner.
The ideology of the store is: “Vegetarians, vegans, Muslims, and anyone who wants to eat meat and fish can enjoy cooking in the same space.

With regard to the vegan menu, since 2018, they have obtained vegan certification from the NPO Veggie Project Japan.

Vegan-friendly salad buffet, available during lunchtime

The recommended menu from the shop is the salad buffet. You can enjoy the seasonal vegetables that are delivered directly from the contract farmers all over the country. You can enjoy many fresh vegetables.

For main dishes, both meat and vegan menu is available. Each dish is carefully prepared, such as the vegan soy meat hamburger. It is made from the actual kneading process in the shop.

For dessert, baked cakes and pound cakes are popular and vegan-friendly. Desserts are made at the partner bakery with LONGING HOUSE’s original recipes.

For dinner, we recommend Bagna Cauda made with fresh vegetables. It is using a vegan-friendly sauce, made with miso instead of anchovy sauce. The wine buffet, which serves carefully selected by the wine sommelier is also popular during dinner time.

Lunch boxes have HEALTHY OPTION, vegan menu, and Muslim menues (menues that Muslim people can also enjoy, but not Halal certified). All lunch boxes are made with fresh ingredients.

In this article, we will introduce “Soy-meat Vegan Hamburger Lunch Box” from the to-go lunch menu.

First of all, the main dish, vegan hamburger, is delicious and tasted like real meat.
At the same time, I was impressed by an à‐la‐carte vegetable dishes. I was able to enjoy the original taste of each vegetable.

Also, for the carb menu, they use 16-grain rice with fried shallots and seaweed on its top. It is more healthy than having just plain white rice. You can feel the particularity of skilled chefs, everywhere!
It was a very satisfying, healthy and delicious bento!

All in all, it is a wonderful shop where you can eat lots of delicious vegetables, seasonally changes its menu, and very particular with the process of cooking.
