Founded “VegeProject Japan(NPO)” when she was a student. From then, she introduced a veg-menu to the student cafeteria of Kyoto University.
She is currently working with universities, companies, restaurants and municipalities to expand vegan and vegetarian options.
Also active as teacher/advertiser of vegetarian vegans. Interviews with well-known vegetarians Paul McCartney and Colin Campbell.
Beautiful wholesome dishes that are created in the restaurant make you body and mind happy
The Farm cafe offers beautiful dishes which are all plant-based and additive-free. These dishes are prepared without any alcohol and processed sugars and some items are oriental vegan friendly and allergy friendly without using 28 foods that are considered to be allergic. The beautiful dishes that make you happy and recharged are all created at the restaurant. They try to select ingredients which are organically grown without using chemical fertilizers and pesticides and use seasonings and oils which are pure and high quality.
The most popular item on the menu is tempura rice bowl (rice with deep-fried vegetable.) The vegetables are put into a batter which is made from chickpea flour and deep-fried in unscented coconut oil. Another popular dish is Karaage rice bowl (rice with deep-friend soy meat) which comes with plenty fresh salad. The big focaccia burger is also a popular choice. Salad burger with avocado and mushroom paste is the most popular burger which attracts lots of repeat customers. The curry is also a very authentic and even Indian customers ask them for the recipe. The curry is cooked without any oil, being gluten-free and oriental vegan friendly, yet has a rich beautiful flavor.
All the items are available for takeout. Some items are also available in frozen packaging for sale such as the mushroom paste which is used for the most popular items on the menu, tomato cream sauce which you can use for curry and pasta, so you can stock up in the fridge and enjoy The Farm cafe delightful food at home anytime.
The restaurant that is conscious of environment and sustainability
The Farm cafe not only cares about providing quality food but also is highly conscious of operating the sustainable business. They carefully control the purchase and preparation of food so that there won’t be any food wasted but also carefully manage the process of menu development and operation of the cafe so that they ensure to provide delicious food all the time. They try to chose the ingredients such as vegetables that are grown without using pesticides and chemical fertilizers, and they use parts of vegetables that can not be eaten for making broth for curry for example. There are still some part of the ingredients which then will be crushed, dried, and used as fertilizer for growing herbs in the restaurant. They also try not to purchase any food with plastic wrapping wherever possible, and they try to negotiate with the suppliers about changing the packagings to environmentally friendly ones when they purchase ingredients in a big quantities so that they can contribute to reducing the waste.
You can enjoy the safe and healthy food at home
Some frozen products available at the restaurant are original and unique, being prepared in the restaurant. The owner created these products hoping that more and more people will enjoy the safe and healthy meals at home. They intend to expand the lineup of the products and provide a variety of services that makes the wholesome vegan dishes more widely available.
These products sold at the shopfront are also available at the online shop of The Farm cafe “Marugoto vegan” and they ship the products nationwide. This is very handy service for customers visiting the Farm cafe from far away and they can enjoy the delightful food anytime at home. They intend to launch new products through collaborated service which is compatible with vegan lifestyle, and also new supportive service to connect with local producers and spread the vegan lifestyle.
The first collaborative product is a vegan meal set, developed with a diet trainer Keisuke Koyama. The profit made through this project and all the profits made by Keisuke Koyama inc. that produces curries with protein, will be donated to the shelter looking after homeless dogs and cats.
