A restaurant focusing on using naturally grown vegetables “Komagome Nourish”
Komagome Narish is a natural vegetable restaurant that is an one-minute walk from Komagome Station in Tokyo (JR Yamanote Line, Tokyo Metro Namboku Line).
Since I came to the restaurant by myself, I opened the door little nervous. But, the wood-based store had a warm atmosphere, so naturally, I gently healed my tension.
The restaurant is located in second floor up the stairs.
“Natural cultivation” is a permanent and systematic farming method that maximizes the natural power of plants and soil without relying on fertilizers or pesticides.
Crops cultivated with fertilizer include a high nitrogen, which leads to an harsh taste.
Nitrogen is also said to be carcinogenic and has various disadvantages.
On the other hand, naturally cultivated crops do not have to worry about harsh taste or carcinogenicity. Therefore, you can enjoy the original taste of vegetables.
Often, children’s dislike of vegetables came by “bitterness.” However, vegetables made by natural cultivation have sweet taste, so children who come to Komagome Nourish can eat vegetables deliciously.
Such attractive natural cultivation is actually carried out in less than 0.03% of all farmers in Japan. You can taste such valuable naturally grown crops at “Komagome Nourish.”
Most popular menu is “Veggie chicken Nanban”
It is a dish of deep-fried soybean meat soaked in sweet Nanban sauce.
The soybean meat is soaked in flavor, so it is very delicious to eat as its natural form. The homemade soy milk tartar sauce is light and goes great with the well-flavored soy meat.
The soymilk mayonnaise used in this sauce uses organic soymilk, Marutori rice vinegar, and domestic cold-pressed rapeseed oil, and is made in the restaurant with particular attention to the ingredients.
The texture of the veggie chicken nanban is so juicy that the gravy overflows, as if you were eating actual meat.
As a fact, Most of the people who ate it for the first time surprise to the fact that it is no an actual meat.
Many people do not notice the dish unless it’s called soy meat, so I felt it was a very satisfying dish for those who are new to vegan food as well.
Miso plays the most important role in miso soup.
They are particular about this miso. They use rice miso called “Kura no Sato,” which is a naturally cultivated raw material prepared with natural fungus koji with brewery from Marukawa Miso, Fukui Prefecture.
And surprisingly, this miso soup is free of charge when you come to the restaurant at lunch time. It is a great deal!
It is attractive that the miso soup is free of charge.
By the way, you can also buy this miso in the restaurant.
Great selection of menus
Unusual among vegan restaurants, this restaurant has great selection of menus like sweet and sour pork, croquettes, burgers, curries & soups etc.
You can also enjoy snacks such as french fries and spring rolls for the dinner menu.
There is also a kids plate and course menu, so there are various usage such as lunch with young children or fashionable dinners with friends.
You can enjoy the dessert after meal
It is said that the miso is mixed just before the brownie is baked so it does not kill the flavor. The brownies were very tender because the abundance of carefully selected cacao from South America. The texture of finely chopped nuts is also an excellent accent. Of course, it is delicious to eat as it is, but if you eat with soy milk whipped cream, the brownie will be moist and you can enjoy a deeper taste.
