After graduating from the management nutritionist training process at Kyoto Prefectural University, she engaged in product planning at food manufacturing company and food company.
She also contributed to the development of new “limited” products of pasta, sandwiches, and side dish bread to a certain convenience store.
In between job changes, she goes to school as a food coordinator, takes pictures of food coordinators and stylist teachers, and also experiences cooking class assistants.
After retiring from pregnancy, she studied health and body again. Now she is raising a 5-year-old twin boy (using natural remedies without relying on medicine as much as possible), while practicing child-rearing with high immunity by incorporating something close to the above.
She also presides over a cooking class for rice cooked at home (sometimes on a business trip) and mainly holds additive-free sprinkle furikake courses and fasting courses. She teaches how to eat and serve as well. In addition, she is currently helping people to prepare their body, as an osteopathic manipulative practitioner.
A healthful cafe in a back alley of Akasaka
Vegesarah Shokudo is located within walking distance from Sakurazaka subway station, in a back alley off the main street.
Originally, it started as a Japanese food based shared cafe in Kego. They started in their current location in January 2017.
At Vegesarah Shokudo, the owner Nao-san offers a concept of “eating-out-food that you can healthy eat every day,” where you can get a little bit of seasonal vegetables in a variety of colors, and a comforting, home-style meal.
I want people to eat delicious food! That is what they try to do every day.
They also hope that the food at Vegesarah Shokudo will give people a sense of the seasons and the deliciousness of ingredients, and make them think about the environment surrounding their daily meals and food.
With such an idea in mind, they create home cooked meals that can be eaten outside.
This is exactly the kind of meal you can enjoy at Vegesarah Shokudo.
Each dish is carefully prepared using plenty of seasonal ingredients. It is not a luxurious menu, but once you try it, you will understand that it is a menu that will please both your body and your heart.
Of course, Nao-san prepares the dishes carefully every day, but she also chooses the ingredients with her own eyes.
For seasonings, she only uses the best and simple ingredients.
For vegetables, she uses mainly organic and pesticide-free products.
Japanese food that will revitalize your body and mind
There are three menus;
-Japanese style lunch with vegetables
-Rice bowl with chicken cutlet and egg (available from 3 p.m.)
-Omusubi set
All of the menu items are carefully prepared from the finest ingredients, so I recommend that you try “Japanese style lunch with vegetables.”
This menu has two types of main dishes that change weekly.
They are written on the blackboard in the restaurant, so everyone checks there and orders the one they like (A or B).
This menu is especially popular among women in the neighbors because it allows them to eat a variety of seasonal vegetables in small portions.
This is Vegesarah’s signature menu: main dish + 4 side dishes using vegetables + seasonal vegetable salad + rice with ancient rice + miso soup.
It is a generous menu that will fill your stomach and your heart.
Incidentally, most of the main dishes are either meat and fish or vegetables only, so you can choose whichever one you like according to your mood that day.
What I had this time was
Tori-ten (Chicken and Onion Tempura) with Onion Sauce
The tori-ten tempura is made of sliced chicken and onions, and the tori-ten sauce was very tasty.
The miso soup is made with a lot of ingredients, and the vegetable side dishes all have different flavors, so you can eat them all without getting bored.
Sweets that make your body and mind happy
Of course, the food is delicious at Vegesarah Shokudo, but you cannot forget about the dessert.
You can fill up on lunch, but you should definitely try the desserts, which are delicious even if your stomach is full.
There are two main types of desserts
-Raw Sweets
-A homemade snack (which will make you feel relaxed)
Both of them have their own strength, but I recommend the set with “Japanese style lunch with vegetables,” which is a bit cheaper.
You can also take out the homemade snacks for break at home.
Raw-sweets are made with organic and pesticide-free ingredients, using homemade sweet-sake as a sweetener, combining vegetables, with unexpected flavor combinations.
You never know what will be on the menu until the day you visit, which is one of the fun parts of this restaurant.
You never know what you will find on the menu. It is very precious to be able to eat sweets that make your body and mind happy together at a restaurant.
You can also check out the takeout(to-go) menu if you are interested.
